A Fresh scientific Perspective

“He merges the two seas where they meet (maraja).

 A barrier (barzakh) is placed between them, which they do not cross.

So which of your Lord's favours will you deny

Out of both of them comes pearls and coral (maraja).

Quran 55:19-22”

Some skeptics have argued the Quran incorrectly states the existence of coral reefs near the merging area of fresh and saltwater estuaries, however, in 2016, Greenpeace divers discovered a huge coral reef structure where the Amazon river converged with the Atlantic ocean. The existence of corals at the mouth of any major rivers was unheard of at the time, so it was quite an amazing discovery for these scientists. But the significance of the Quran mentions the existence of coral reef  near the converging area of the  two bodies of water is quite even more amazing.
